WASHINGTON– The nation’s unemployment rate surged to 10.2 percent in October, reaching double digits for the first time in 26 years, the Labor Department reported today.

The unexpected sharp increase, from 9.8 percent in September, came as employers dropped 190,000 workers from their payrolls last month. “It’s an important political threshold,” said Robert Reich, the former labor secretary under the Clinton administration who now teaches at the University of California at Berkeley. With the mid-term elections looming next year, he said, “the 10 percent is going to give Republicans more ammunition to criticize the [Obama] administration and force the hand of the administration to at least appear to be taking additional steps to remedy the situation.”

In fact, White House aides, in apparent anticipation of the bad statistical news, said President Obama was scheduled this morning to sign a bill that would extend jobless benefits to the long-term unemployed and expand tax-relief programs for homebuyers and businesses operating at a loss.

Traffic is the life line of any internet business and whether you pay for it or not, you do need targeted traffic for your niche.  When someone build a website, it will not get much traffic or any traffic without the right form of promotion.  You have to spread the word out so others will know that your website exists.

There are hundred ways to do this but I’ve summarize the 10 most effective ways to generate traffic for your website.  If your site is new, this is also a great way to get your website indexed by the search engines.

1.  Start a Blog

If you haven’t heard about blog, it is an old but very effective way to create free traffic to your website.  Blogs are easy and free to create so most beginners who don’t want to spend much money online should take advantage of this free source of traffic. You can start your own blog today free at Blogger.  If you would like to have your own domain name, you can check out Wordpress – extremely popular these days.

2.  Write articles

Another cheap yet really effective way to drive traffic to your website is writing articles.  It’s free to sumit to articles directories so take advantage of it.  The biggest article site to submit your articles to is EzineArticles and I usually sumit my articles there first before anywhere else. Articlebase is another great article site to post your articles.

3.  Youtube videos

Create many videos and post it on Youtube is another great way to get traffic to your site.  This could be a time consuming job and you need some screen shot video software to do this.  I personally use Camtasia video software ($300) but you can find something for free if you look around.  What I suggest is you make at least 5-10 videos and post it to Tubemogul, it’s way easier and faster to upload your videos to many different video sites.

4.  Blogs’ comments

Go around and look for blogs in your related niche market and give comments.  When doing that, make sure to put your website urls to increase traffics and backlinks to your site.  Write good comments not spamming on others’ blog or they might delete your post.  Do not waste your time leaving comments on no-follow blogs.

5.  Craigslist Ads

Free ads is a great advantage to drive traffics to your site. Craigslist is a big site so it is a great place to put your ads.  However, don’t do it too crazy because they will remove your ads due to spam.  I usually put up 3 ads a day in different cities and different contents to make sure you stay clean.

6.  Yahoo! answers

This is an awesome source of targeted traffics because there are thousands of questions posted on there everyday.  People are looking for solutions to their problems and you can help them by dropping some helpful answer.  Make sure you put your website url to link back to your page.

7.  Forum traffic

Forums are great source of targeted traffic that you can not miss.  Go ahead and sign up with different forum right now and start posting useful comments to questions.  Make sure to find the forums that related to your niche market.  In every post, create a link back to your websites and blogs.  Try to keep your links relevant to the forum posts, don’t just leave a link just for the sake of it. Some good forums for internet marketing niche are Warriors, DigitalPoint.

8.  Twitter and Facebook

These are also great places to promote your website.  If you have lots of followers in Twitter of friends on Facebook, you can let them know about your website and increase traffics.  There are many ways to get thousands of followers on your Twitter by going around and follow other people or use some automate paid soft wares.

I’m going to reveal one of the techniques I’ve used to submit all my websites and blogs to more than 30 different Directories. All you need is a 1 click button and some little work.

We all know that if you submit your blogs to different directories, you can generate both traffics and backlinks thus will increase your page rank. I don’t really want to go to each an every directory and submit my new blogs. Getting traffic to your websites and blogs are nice, but isn’t it nicer to know how much traffic your hard work pay off?  Install Google Analytics will help you check how many visitors to your site a day.  The service is free so everybody should be using this already.  Installing Google Analytics will also help your new site or blog get indexed by search engines especially Google.

Sign up for a Google account if you don’t have one.  It’s free.

Step 3

Log in to your account.  You will see this:

Copy and paste the script to your website.

In the source of your website, simply paste this code at the bottom section of the page or the footer file.  Make sure you paste the code above the </body> tag.

Save and you are done.

This can be done the same way if you use Wordpress (edit the footer file)

I want to share with you a short but interesting story I’ve read on my friend Chris website

“In the 1950’s, there was a study carried out at Harvard University where the students were questioned about who had goals. Not surprisingly, virtually everyone said they did.

They were then asked how many had actually put these goals into writing.

The answer was only 3% of the group.

This study was followed up 30 years later – and the 3% that had written down their goals were worth more than the other 97% combined.

Amazing or just a coincidence?

That’s up to you to decide. But as long as your goals remain inside your head you run the risk of them only ever being dreams.

Please now be HONEST with yourself….

Have you put your goals into writing?

Most people have not.

Most people of course want to do well, but when asked ‘what is your goal’ they more often than not have a vague ‘I-just-want-to-make-some-money’ sort of answer.

You need to change this.

You need to have a laser-focused pin-pointed immediate answer of EXACTLY what it is you want to achieve.

If it’s a certain figure you are striving for every month – then visualize this EXACT figure.

If it’s to change a certain situation you are currently in – then visualize the exact resolution that you want.

This is important – because most people do not have an actual answer to the question ‘what is your goal?’

Writing down your goal will achieve this answer for you. And let me tell you – seeing what you want written down – is very empowering!

Pinging also attract search engine spider to crawl in your site. You can get indexed by search engine faster this way. It’s like telling your search engine to “come here” and check me out!

Tips to select good affiliate programs

1. Look for programs that offer high quality products or services.  To keep your customer coming back to buy more, as an affiliate you want to enhance your professional look and credibility.  What are the most expensive offers they carried and how well do the products sell?  Are there affiliates promoting for those products?

2. The affiliate programs shouldn’t charge you for joining their site.  There are thousands of free affiliate program on the internet.

3. Do they offer good 2-tier affiliate commission?  If you refer a customer to buy a product, you should get paid a good commission (from 30%-75%).  If I’m going to spend time and money trying to promote a products, I want at least %50 commission.  This also depends on the type of product or offer.  Some CPA networks only require free sign up from customers for you to get paid.

4. How good is their communication?  Are they supportive and respond to your question fast or slow?  How and what kind of method do they pay their affiliate.  Don’t forget some affiliate programs only available for people in certain countries but not for others.  Make sure to check if you are accepted.

One of the easiest and fastest ways for people to make money online is to become an affiliate.  As in the beginning, many find it hard to create their own products.  Affiliate programs are great opportunity to get your feet wet in this internet business.

Can I do this?  How do all this work?  Can I really make money online?  What if I failed and waste my time?  It’s too risky.   I don’t have time.

I hear this lots of time, mostly from myself.  When I first started and hours and hours of work just didn’t see any results.  We all went through this period of time where your first motivation become doublt.  We all have fears and doults in almost everything we do. From the time we started Kindergarden to the day we die, fear is an irresistable thought. But what is fear really?

False thinking is unstoppable if you let it. A negative thought will only be a negative thought if you don’t allow it to be a negative reality.
Evidence can prove that you are not likely to die walking in the dark. However, people are still find darkness scary.
Appearing and dissappearing is the state of mind. Undoubt the doubt.
Real is the reality that you believe in. You can live in biggest city in the world and still find yourself lonely.

F.E.A.R. is only A False Evidence Appearing Real to you. Get over your fear and start believe in yourself. Do you have a dream but don’t have a gut to follow it?
